Slovakian-born mother of four, Ema writes about rewilding the modern family on her portal and has built a community on Instagram. She facilitates cave — a six-week women's group — and is the subject of the feature documentary Becoming Ema, which premiered at cph:dox in 2026.
Tomas
Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Tomas is a fine art photographer published by Gost Books with an afterword by Elliott Erwitt. His work appeared in The Guardian, Financial Times, or Flash Art.

A young woman defies expectations to embrace motherhood and off-grid life on a plot of mediterranean forest. When Ema and Tomas invest their savings in rural land, they face financial hardship and generational tensions — discovering that the hardest territory to settle isn't the land, but themselves.
